You may be surprised how fast trends come and go, especially with social media showcasing the best of what’s ‘in’ right now. No matter how long a trend lasts, it’s always good to be aware of what is currently in the spotlight, and what isn’t getting as much attention. Not only will it put you at the top of your game when speaking with customers but will help you win sales too.

Over the last two years, building projects may have felt the effects of the pandemic with various delays and lack of materials. It already feels like 2022 has propelled us forward at full speed as some normality resumes, with a new lease of life and motivation to create and finish some beautiful spaces.

If the last two years have taught us anything, it’s that our living space really is our haven. The pandemic allowed us to get creative at home, spicing up different spaces to make them work practically as home gyms or offices, for example. Now, it feels like the time to reclaim these spaces and create a fully functioning, comfortable home that reflects everything we love and enjoy, a place of peace and personality combined.

Some design elements that we have taken from previous years still stand in 2022, such as the desire to have a home connected to nature and the outdoors, whether that is through natural sunlight or a colourful array of houseplants. What we may have left behind though are plain, minimalist interiors, instead opting for a little more warmth and colour. Gone are the days of sterile all white spaces, instead replaced with the bold and daring, filled with accessories that ooze character.

Interior trends can be reflected through every little detail within your space, interior mouldings included. Despite there being an interest in maximalist interiors, our Square Edge SAM04 skirting and architrave still remains a firm favourite, closely followed by the SAM23 Pencil Round profile. Both are simple in design, easy to maintain and timeless in terms of what’s trending.

Continuing with the more contemporary style mouldings is our SAM5060 Grooved skirting and architrave, another that is high in demand. A great one to promote for those modern interior lovers, the groove design allows skirting and architrave to fit seamlessly together and is available in a variety of different styles, like the SAM4288 Pencil Round and V-groove. A simple grooved is the perfect finishing touch against a bolder backdrop.

For those wanting to inject a little more character, our top traditional style skirting and architrave profiles are the SAM09 Torus and SAM93 Ogee. Long time favourites, these two profiles will add a touch of detail and look great in both smaller and wider widths.
